Viking Air Ltd. is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager to join the Customer Service and Product Support (CSPS) division in Calgary.

Viking Air Limited is the global leader providing support and services, and manufacturing of utility, specialty, and fire-fighting aircraft.  Viking provides OEM support for the global fleet of de Havilland DHC-1 through DHC-7 and the Bombardier CL-215, 215T and 415 aircraft.


Develop and lead a best-in-class Customer Service and Product Support marketing and business development team. Establish marketing and business development capability as core competence and value. Identify new business growth opportunities for aftermarket products and services, and develop and implement programs to profitably address these opportunities. Embrace and lead Viking's R2E excellence program, and drive continual improvement in all aspects of marketing and business development. Develop and mentor team members and help them to realize their maximum potential.  Develop and implement strategies to achieve and sustain year-on-year revenue and gross-margin growth.


  • Organization and Leadership: Develop and lead a best-in-class marketing and business development team. Lead the marketing and business development team in the provision of world class services. Ensure that high-quality services are delivered effectively, efficiently and consistently, whether it is direct or indirect, internal or external. Provide service leadership related to marketing and business development. Establish an accountable organization through embracing and demonstrating accountable leadership principals.  Ensure standard work is developed and hold individuals accountable for following it.  Develop and mentor team members and help them to realize their maximum potential.
  • Marketing Strategy: Develop and implement the marketing strategy for new and existing products and services. Contribute to the development and manage implementation of the aftermarket brand strategy. Manage implementation of the marketing strategy including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and public relations. Develop marketing policies and communicate those policies to the Customer Service and Product Support organization.
  • Market Research and Reporting: Undertake continuous analysis of competitive environment and consumer trends. Develop and maintain metrics defining key market criteria and activities. Ensure that the marketing objectives are implemented by the marketing team.
  • Business Development: Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue and margins. Plan and build business marketing strategies, sales and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and potential customers. Support the aircraft sales and marketing team, enabling them to meet their commercial objectives by providing them with appropriate tools, materials and presentations. Work closely with the aircraft sales and marketing team to define marketing materials and programs. Support aftermarket sales team in obtaining major contracts.
  • Continual Improvement: Embrace and lead Viking's Achieving Excellence program in the provision of aftermarket spare parts operations.  Champion the implementation and continual improvement of standard work, and strive to identify and drive out waste from all aftermarket activities.  Provide top-down leadership and a rigorous approach to management by metrics.  Develop robust scorecards, implement improved customer service metrics and implement a digital sales platform.


  • 5 to 10 years of experience working in marketing or business development
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a manager
  • Bachelors or Master's degrees in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience developing and managing marketing analytics
  • Experience developing and reporting market statistics to senior management
  • Experience managing a brand
  • Aerospace industry experience and a passion for aviation
  • Confident, driven and dynamic leader
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience identifying and developing new accounts, customers and sales
  • Exceptional communication skills
