Viking is seeking an experienced Senior Help Desk Technician to join the IT department in Sidney, BC

Viking Air Limited is the global leader providing support and services, and manufacturing of utility, specialty, and fire-fighting aircraft.  Viking provides OEM support for the global fleet of de Havilland DHC-1 through DHC-7 and the Bombardier CL-215, 215T and 415 aircraft.

SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

  • Serve as resource for escalated help desk tickets.
  • Support the company's mobile infrastructure.
  • Support the company's network communications.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide tier II support for escalated help desk tickets.
  • Document all pertinent information, including problem-solving process and actions taken, into Viking Air's ticketing system.
  • Configure and support company LAN, WAN and wireless networks.
  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, GPO, DHCP, DNS.
  • Configure and manage the company's mobile device inventory.
  • Perform hardware/software imaging and rollouts.

 

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or 2+ years equivalent work experience.
  • Support experience in an Active Directory environment.
  • Working knowledge of networking.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
